Policies and Procedures

At L & D Impact Counseling, we are committed to providing professional, compassionate, and ethical counseling services. The following policies and procedures are in place to ensure a safe, supportive, and effective environment for all clients.

1. Appointments & Scheduling

  • Sessions are available by appointment only.

  • Appointments may be scheduled by phone, email, or through our online booking system.

  • Please arrive on time for your session to make the most of your scheduled time.

2. Cancellations & No-Shows

  • We require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or reschedules.

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance may result in a late cancellation fee.

  • No-show appointments are subject to the full session fee.

3. Fees & Payment

  • Payment is due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made.

  • We accept cash, debit/credit cards, and approved insurance providers.

  • Sliding scale or financial assistance may be available upon request.

4. Confidentiality

  • All sessions are confidential in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

  • Information will only be released with your written consent, except as required by law (e.g., risk of harm to self/others, child or elder abuse, court order).

  • Client records are securely stored and protected.

5. Communication

  • Non-emergency communication may occur by phone, email, or secure client portal.

  • Email and text communication should not be used for crisis situations.

  • In case of emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

6. Client Rights

  • Clients have the right to be treated with respect, dignity, and without discrimination.

  • Clients may refuse any service or request a referral to another provider.

  • Clients have the right to access their records in accordance with applicable laws.

7. Telehealth Services

  • Telehealth sessions are available upon request.

  • Clients must ensure privacy and a reliable internet connection for online sessions.

  • All telehealth sessions follow the same confidentiality and ethical standards as in-person sessions.

8. Emergencies & Crisis Policy

  • L & D Impact Counseling does not provide 24-hour crisis services.

  • If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911, go to the nearest ER, or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988.
